What makes a great CV?

You've probably noticed that we're light on words. That's for good reason. A great CV gets a clear message across succinctly. We don't want you to read reams, as no self-respecting recruiter would either.

Attributes of a great CV:

  • clear, concise and well ordered
  • highlights relevant achievements
  • focuses on personal strengths
  • short - your life in 2 pages (maybe be 3 for Senior Managers)
  • must stand out from the myriad of others (and not by using bright pink paper!)
  • unquestionably professional
  • error free

So, you get one shot - the recruiter picks it up (first impression now developed), scans it (main impression now pretty solid), looks at more detail if interested. If you don't hit the mark on first & main impression then you've had it. Sorry to be so blunt.
